Scraphappy Saturday -- Orange Oasis

Look at the size difference between the nine patches made with 2 inch squares and the ones made with the one inch size.  The larger blocks will be part of a Mai Tai quilt and the little ones will be either a Birthday Quilt or Omigosh.  Some day of course, for now they are both long and slow works in progress.  Anna has a Lacrosse game in Tampa today and I would like for us all to go and see it, but Kurt is pretty adamant that it wouldn't do the others much good to sit in the car for an entire day going back and forth.  I must say I was tempted when I saw the mention of a quilt show on Bonnie's blog, but I'm not sure it would work out all that well.  It wouldn't be bad to have a day at home for a change.  How about you?  Home sewing or out and about?  Use the linky below to share your plans and progress as we begin a brand new month of orange.

Looks like I was a copycat with my nine patches. It is amazing the size difference, they look way less than half the size. I guess my day will be spent visiting my husband, but who knows what could develop. One grandson already mentioned lunch. Hope you have a good day and thank you again for the RSC 2013. I was looking forward to finding out the new color as much as I anticipate the next clue in a mystery. I know you gave us a very strong clue that Orange could be it, but I didn't know if you were just 'playing'.

I confess that orange is not a colour I use much -- none in my stash that I know of -- but those blocks look so sunny and bright, I might just have to go looking!

Well, you hit the 3 weakest colors in my scraps and stash - challenging!

I've not been able to start my Rainbow scrap project yet, too many deadlines on other projects. But now that I'm making an OSU quilt, I'll have lots of orange scraps to play with.

I had to raid my charm square box in order to make my floating star block, but it is done! If we do the color 'rust', I think I shall never run out.

I think it is a perfect day to stay home and sew. I hope you get to take plenty of time for yourself today!

9 patches are so versatile no matter what the size. I always love them.

Since I work 10 hr days I just love to stay at home on the weekends and sew or garden or read or work on scrapbooks...no rushing. Weekends are for stress relieving!

I don't really like orange - it's too wild for me- but surprisingly I have a lot of orange scraps. Must be from things I've made the grandkids.

Look at all of the orange already! I've got company for the weekend so not too much sewing for me, but looking forward to playing with orange during the week.

Thanks for hosting. I hope you found time to stop at the quilt show. If not maybe you got to do a little DJ hand sewing.
